  • I was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. At around age 12, my family moved to Osyka, Mississippi.  That's right across the state line from Kentwood, Louisiana, where Britney Spears grew up!

  • I joined the US Army in 1990 and met my husband at Ft. Drum, NY, where he was also a soldier.  We have two sons who are both taller than me now!

  • I have lived in West Virginia for 21 years now. It reminds me a lot of Mississippi!

  • I have been teaching in Berkeley County Schools for 12 years.

  • I have taught kindergarten, first grade, and second grade.

  • Now, I teach K-2 technology skills in my colorful computer lab that matches the colors you see on my webpage!

  • I am currently pursuing my Masters in Educational Leadership at Hood College through the Educational Leadership Cohort Program with BCS.

About Me

“Living with integrity means: Not settling for less than what you know you deserve in your relationships. Asking for what you want and need from others. Speaking your truth, even though it might create conflict or tension. Behaving in ways that are in harmony with your personal values. Making choices based on what you believe, and not what others believe.”

Barbara De Angelis

What did I want to be when I was little?

I had two things I wanted to be when I was very young:  Cinderella & Miss America.

What did I do growing up that got me into trouble?

I put a big wad of Bubble Yum Chewing Gum into my younger sister's hair.  I never did that again!

To my students:

    "Remember Who You Are".

Not as a means to think you are superior to anyone else, but to remind yourself that your actions and words always demonstrate to others who you are.  The choices you make now affect your future.

I am the Technology Teacher at Hedgesville Elementary School.  I have been teaching in the computer lab for 3 years. I also have the job of being our school SYSOP, which means that I am responsible for technology maintenance at HES.  I help our teachers keep our computers and iPads in working condition, but if I cannot help, I request further assistance from our county Technology Department and RESA. I am also responsible for maintaining our school website which includes updating the school calendar, posting announcements, and providing links that are helpful to our students, parents, staff, and our community. I share a responsibility with our Assistant Principal Mr. Frye in sending out NTouch messages with pertinent information about our school.   Please take the time to explore not just my website, but also our Hedgesville Elementary School website!  It is my goal that all stakeholders involved in the education of our HES students will utilize our school's website as a valuable resource for any information about our school and our many events and activities.
